Storyline : The Lord of the Rings

The Lord of the ring is the quest at two levels. Frodo’s quest and Sauren’s quest. One’s quest is to get the power to rule and corrupt while Frodo’s quest is to end the evil.

The Fellowship of the Ring

It was long ago, 111th birthday of Bilbo Baggins when suddenly he leaves the Shire, the land of the Hobbits. Others thought Bilbo Baggins had become mad. Bilbo left Gandalf and Frodo, Frodo was Bilbo’s relative and an only e33 year old adopted heir. He owned Bilbo’s belongings which included the Ring, his home and Bag End. Before Frodo could manage it all; Gandalf left Frodo making him warned about keeping of the Ring.

On one spring night Gandalf came and told Frodo the horrified truth about the Ring. It was too scary to know that the Ring belonged to Sauron the Dark Lord. Sauron forged the Ring to rule over Middle-earth however he got defeated in the War of the Last Alliance. King Elendil’s son Isildur cut the Ring from Sauron’s finger and kept the Ring for himself. Soon Isildur got slain in the Battle of the Gladden Fields; the Ring was lost, now it was in the deep Great River Anduin. Thousands of years passed the ring went into different hands. Finally Bilbo got after Gollum. The Ring had evil powers which always inflicted bad effects on its bearer and those who stay near to it. But then Sauron the Dark Lord regained his power and returned to Mordor.

Gandalf informed Frodo the Ring was unsafe in the Shire. Sauron knew where the Ring was. Frodo planned to go Elf-haven Rivendell, the only safest place for Frodo and the Ring.  Frodo left the Shire with Sam, Merry and Pippin but Fatty stayed behind to distract Nazgul. The hobbits travelled through the Old Forest to meet Aragorn, their guide to Rivendell. Nazgul attacks Frodo and his companions, Frodo got severely injured but Elrond the lord of Rivendell saves them all.

At last Frodo reaches at Elrond’s house in Rivendell and Frodo meets Bilbo. Elrond summons his Council so they can bring all the matters in front of Gandalf, Frodo and Bilbo. Gloin informed everyone about Nazgul and Gollum who were haunting the Ring. The steward of Gondor, Boromir tells about a dream to search “the Sword That Was Broken” and “Isildur’s Bane” in Rivendell. Frodo and the Ring were Isildur’s Bane. Finally the Council decided to throw the Ring into the fires of Mount Doom in Mordor.
Elrond explained Boromir the intrinsic evil of the ring; the Ring had corrupting powers for everyone. Frodo decides to set for the quest and becomes the Ring-bearer. He started his quest with eight of his friends, Boromir and Aragorn, Legolas, Gandalf, Gimlithe dwarf (Gloin’s son) and three hobbits. This company has formed the Fellowship of the Ring and represent the races of Middle-earth. During an encounter with Balrog, Gandalf falls into an abyss; others run away and reach in Lothlorien. Frodo ends up the fellowship and moves to Mordor along with Sam.

The Two Towers

Orcs captivated Merry and Pippin considering them the Ring bearer because of misunderstanding a heard prophecy. Merry and Pippin both run away while travelling they befriend with Ent (a huge tree like creature) named Fangorn. They went to Ent assembly, Ents decided a war against the cruel Orcs of Isengard. Saruman keeps haunting the scattered members of the fellowship. Gandalf reborn as Gandalf the White and assists Aragorn’s fellows to the Golden Hall of King Théoden.
Frodo and Sam met Gollum and made him their guide. They passed through smelly marshland viewed dead warriors haunting the waters. At last they see the Black Gate of the realm of Mordor. Frodo gets paralyzed because of Shelob’s sting and both friends get separated. Orc guards capture Frodo while Sam thinks Frodo was dead, he carried the Ring by himself. This book finishes with Sam’s distress over separation of Frodo from him.

The Return of the King

Gandalf and Pippin started their journey to the city of Minas Tirith in Gondor and meet Denethor the city’s Steward. Pippin presented him his sword, as Boromir has sacrificed his life in the quest. Darkness of Mordor disguised the sky over Minas Tirith. Aragorn realized that the Riders might become late to assist him. He decides to take the legendary Paths of the Dead to Gondor but finds a large army of the Sleepless Dead follows him to southward. Boromir’s father sends Faramir, to stop Mordor army at Osgiliath. When Faramir fails and gets injured by Nazgul, Denethor becomes mad and plans to kill Faramir to end the line of Gondor’s Stewards.
Riders of Rohan reach at time and fight the enemy off meanwhile Nazgul kills king Théoden. Merry and Lady Eowyn kill Nazgul bravely. On the other side Pippin and Gandalf both stop Denethor from killing Faramir but Denethor kills himself.  After rescuing Gondor, Aragorn completes another ancient prophecy concerning the next king of Gondor. Aragorn forces move towards the Black Gate of Mordor and face Sauron’s Lieutenant who claims to have Frodo and Sam in his captivity. When Gandalf snubs him he frees his army of Mordor. Meanwhile Sam successfully rescues Frodo from the tower of Cirith Ungol. After many long and tiring days or travelling both friends reach Mount Doom. Sam carried Fordo to the top, but as they reached the Cracks of Doom Frodo refused to give the Ring, ring has casted its influence on him. Gollum bites the Ring off Frodo’s finger but he stumbles and falls into the Cracks of Doom. Gandalf rescues Frodo and Sam.

The Darkness disappears from Gondor and Aragorn becomes the King of Gondor. The hobbits return to the Shire and find their destroyed houses. Frodo lets Saruman live but his own servant Wormtongue kills him. The hobbits rebuild the Shire and start their life. Sam marries Rosie Cotton and got a daughter. Frodo was badly injured so he decided to sail away with Gandalf, Bilbo and the other Ring-bearers went towards the unknown west a peaceful paradise.

About the Author

Mia Hoddell lives in the UK with her family and two cats. She spends most of her time writing or reading and her preferred genre is Young Adult, Paranormal Romance. Before 2009, Mia wouldn't even pick up a book and was more interested in sports. However she finally found some novels that captured her interest and developed a love of both reading and writing. Mia began with poems and after getting two published in separate anthologies she moved on to short stories. Although she enjoyed this, Mia found she had too much to tell with too little space, so later on she created her first series The Wanderer Trilogy and from there other ideas have emerged which she hopes to turn into novels as well. Elemental Killers is her second series and book two will be out soon.

The novel Ulysses was considered among the dirt and ostentatious work and somehow and an unreadable book. It was a time when these types of stories were considered as dirty writing. But now these types of stories are labeled under the modernist writing creation. He It is basically the story of a husband and wife and their extra relations being in the legal bonds with each other. Bloom was having a sense that his wife and Blaze are having the intense relationship, in spite they are having a daughter. Who was sent to study the photography.

The novel has a mood that moves with the grim and serious as it was the presentation of harsh and sever reality that was happening in the War under the French revolution. The oppressions and the harshness a common man has gone through the War was depicted in the same way as it happened by Charles Dickens. The horrible scenes of War and appalled people with the bloodshed, the novel have its own extremes of emotions and fright that has caused to people even if they were innocent. Every character has its own importance explaining the grief they have gone through, even it would be husband and wife, the lovers or the relationship of a father and a daughter. The story started with the grief of a daughter Lucie Manette, where she heard that her father who was a doctor, and was missing from last 18 years is alive and was imprisoned in spite of being innocent. When she went to Paris to take him, she found that he has lost his memory. Chales Dickens did not leave any detail of pain and violence and explained the scenario in every possible detail
